IT Support Technician

Job description The I.T technician is responsible for diagnosing computer and network problems,, installing software, and performing tests on computer equipment. Technicians may also set up computer equipment, schedule maintenance, and work on various networks. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Diagnose & resolve technical issues. - Provide remote and onsite support to all clients. - Follow correct escalation protocols & procedures. - Setup & configure new desktops, laptops & other devices. - Installing authorised software on desktops, laptops & other devices - Resolving service desk requests. - Striving to resolve requests in a professional manner within the SLA time frames. - Work extra hours & overtime to meet deadlines where reasonable. **REQUIREMENTS**: - Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 level qualification. - A+ - N+ - Minimum 1 year working experience in I.T - Good telephone etiquette. - Proficient English writing and oral skills. - Able to work weekends & public holidays - Exceptional listening and information seeking skills. - Self-motivated, professional and able to maintain confidence and stability when under pressure. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 1 >Configuration of routers(all brands) 2 >Ubiquity Power beam/lite beam/rocket lite/Rocket prism or 60Ghz PTP configuration 3 >Able to fix network and coverage issues at customer premises 4 >Able to change and adjust wireless channels to reduce noise/interference and increase capacity 5 >Optical Fibre Splicing 6 >Configurations of Mikrotik cloud switches (Vlans, port isolation) 7 >Configuration of NATs and firewalls on routers or any available device 8 >Network architecture, internet website access analysis, and business customer resolutions **Salary**: R5,000.00 - R8,000.00 per month Ability to commute/relocate: - Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required) **Education**: - Diploma (preferred)
