Mechanical Fitter

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Is responsible for safe maintenance and repair of equipment and machines in order to ensure the availability and reliability thereof
- Is responsible for engineering technical compliance
- Perform inspections and work in accordance with the Mine Standards and Procedures and the Mine Health and Safety Act and regulations
- Recording of inspections, maintenance and repairs conducted to equipment on checklists and job cards
- Be able to identify faults and repair defects without supervision
- Maintain good housekeeping in the area of responsibility
- Ensuring that all planning and productivity requirements are safely achieved
- Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to perform in a safe and controlled manner
- Must be prepared to work shifts, overtime and standby duties
- Maintaining and repairing of relevant equipment and machinery and general housekeeping
- Providing specialised engineering technical services to engineering and production teams
- Use experience and knowledge in innovative ways to solve problems
- Ensure the availability of machinery
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Advise the responsible Mechanical Engineering Foreman of any unsafe conditions
- Participate in routine workplace safety activities.

- **EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION**:

- Red Seal Qualified Millwright.
- Flameproofing Certification is a requirement.
- At least 4 years experience.
- Sound experience in handling mechanical & electrical tasks.
- Logical reasoning skills is required for problem solving.
- Underground Mining Equipment.
- Load Haul dumper experience.
- Rebuild of Mine machinery.
- Hydraulic Experience.
- Heavy duty Machinery Experience
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must be a Team player

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: R165,00 - R420,00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
