A family owned boutique wine estate and exclusive luxury hospitality establishment (B&B) in the Stellenbosch area is looking for an experienced and responsible self-motivated person to act in the dual role of a tasting area host and guest house “front of house”.

The goal of the appointment is to build out the new tasting facility’s offering and to maintain the top rated guest house’s client interaction, in liaison with the management and house-keeping team. You will have experience in the day-to-day activities of a tasting room, have an absolute passion for wine, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and colleagues.

The following areas of responsibility will have to be executed with acute attention to detail:
1. B&B “Front of house”
- Guest communication and interaction
- Telephone reception
- Guest welcoming and check-in
- Concierge service for villa guests
- Management of guest check-out and payment
- Management of guest complaints and suggestions
- Monitoring of social media

2. Tasting Area Host
- Overseeing the day to day operations of tasting area
- Establishing excellent relations with guests
- Administering overall appearance of tasting room and related facilities
- Presenting formal and informal wine tastings
- On site sales
- Administering online sales and inquiries
- Tasting room stock management
- Ad hoc administrative duties
- Managing guest complaints and suggestions
- Relevant tertiary education
- Three years of relevant experience
- An absolute passion for wine and hospitality
- A good knowledge of the South African wine industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A capacity to handle pressure situations
- A willingness to work on Saturdays, holidays and overtime
- Own transport
