Senior Manager: Business Analysis

**Main duties and responsibilities**:
- Taking accountability for building the business analysis, business support and testing competencies
- Embedding and demonstrating value around what the strategic objectives of PPS entail. This is applies to the yearly performance contract for outcomes-based evaluation
- Accountable for creating, amending and including end-to-end business processes and business value chains for business awareness, understanding and consumption
- Proactively assisting the team in identifying key risks during solution designs and providing mitigating actions for risks
- Interrogating the business case, business benefit realisation and financials to ensure that they align to the solution, timeline and budget agreed to
- Accountable for the management of the business unit budget; demonstrates good financial management practices in the spending of allocated budget
- Understanding various business unit budgets so that cost dependencies and interdependencies are always taken into consideration as well always proactively seeking ways to use the budget in a cost-efficient manner
- Providing costs or setting budget aside to foster innovation, automation and the purchasing of tools that can enable the environment
- Demonstrating the value added to business units by Business Design and Solutions in achieving the PPS strategic objectives
- Providing innovative solutions to business for perusal and understanding
- Constantly updating team members/direct reports on best practices, company policies and procedures Measuring the impact of direct report conversations on team dynamics and focusing on effective communication
- Transparent in ensuring that key business inhibiting capabilities are highlighted with a solution-orientated approach
- Conceptualising, building and presenting plans related to business capabilities which allow the business to think more intuitively
- Creating and sustaining networks for best practices and insights about business analysis, incident resolution and business architecture so that multi-disciplinary approaches are leveraged
- Keeping abreast of technology trends specifically in the disciplines of automation, intelligence and the maturing of the 4th Industrial Revolution trends. This enables efficiencies, increased time to market for the business relating to system innovation, excellent User experience (internal and external) and system stability.
- An active member in appropriate Operating and Steering Committees to ensure that standards, solution designs, business requirements and best practices are aligned, so that the business can derive value from solutions completed.
**Education**:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Degree in Business Management or Hons in Business Management an advantage
- Degree in Information Systems or technology related qualification
- Certification in strategy implementation or project execution certification
- Investment related qualification(s) will be advantageous
- Certification from professional Institutions an advantage
**Experience**:
- 7 to 10 years of business and systems analysis within a system development life cycle
- 7 to 10 years’ experience in Financial Services
- Experience in a Unit Trust Management company, Linked Investment Service Provider (LISP) and/or Asset Management arena will be advantageous
- Investment industry related experience
- Experiencing in coaching and managing business analysts
- Experience in Agile in development frameworks
- Experience in Enterprise Architecture frameworks is advantageous
- Experience in managing software vendors
**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Knowledge in testing, business analysis & process management and solution design
- Anticipates and responds appropriately to the needs, reactions and feedback of any audience
- Proficient in interpreting technical solutions to ensure that they conform to the Services that have been agreed as core to the IT and Operational environments and that the appropriate design standards are applied.
- MS Office package, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Able to use and interpret process management tools for amending or designing business process flows
- Able to use problem management tools for reporting
- Able to interpret and re-engineer technical solutions so that Business Capabilities and Architectures are not compromised
- Proficient in understanding of financial management practices and financial risks
- Able to interrogate business case business benefit realization and financials to ensure that it aligns to the solution, timeline and budget agreed to
- Demonstrates awareness of market trends and opportunities and keeps up to date with competitor developments impacting area of responsibility
- Excellent knowledge, understanding and interpretation of the PPS vision, strategy and member value proposition
