Organisational Design Specialist

The Organisational Design Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising Organisational structures, roles, and processes to align with the company’s strategic objectives. This role ensures that the organization is agile, efficient, and capable of delivering on its business goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Organisational Strategy and Design**
- Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business goals and translate them into effective Organisational structures.
- Design and implement Organisational models that support scalability, efficiency, and agility.
- Conduct Organisational diagnostics to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
**2. Job Architecture and Role Design**
- Develop job architectures, including job families, levels, and career paths.
- Define roles and responsibilities to ensure clarity and alignment with business objectives.
- Create job descriptions and competency frameworks.
**3. Change Management**
- Lead change initiatives related to Organisational restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, or transformations.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions.
- Communicate changes to stakeholders and provide support during implementation.
**4. Workforce Planning**
- Conduct workforce planning to ensure the right talent is in place to meet business needs.
- Analyse workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and development.
**5. Process Optimization**
- Review and optimize business processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Identify and eliminate redundancies in roles and processes.
- Implement best practices in Organisational design and workforce management.
**6. Stakeholder Engagement**
- Work closely with HR, business leaders, and external consultants to deliver Organisational design projects.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support for design initiatives.
- Present recommendations and findings to senior leadership and boards.
**7. Metrics and Reporting**
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of Organisational design initiatives.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate progress and outcomes.
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making
**Qualifications and Experience**
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or MCom) or relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
**Experience**:
- 5+ years of experience in Organisational design, workforce planning, or HR consulting.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale Organisational design projects.
- Experience in change management and business transformation.
- Knowledge of South African labour laws and regulations (e.g., LRA, BCEA, EE Act).
**Certifications (Advantageous)**:
- Certified Organisational Design Professional (CODP).
- Prosci Change Management Certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile certifications.
**Skills and Competencies**
**Technical Skills**:
- Strong understanding of Organisational design principles and methodologies.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of job evaluation methodologies (e.g., Paterson, Hay).
**Soft Skills**:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- High emotional intelligence and cultural awareness.
- Project management and multitasking skills.
