Property Manager for Midrand

Leading the high end student accommodation in South Africa, our client has set itself apart by providing a refreshing face to the ever growing young market. Owning, redeveloping and managing their portfolio in-house has allowed them to offer a leisure like feel to their growing compliment of clients. In their buildings that are spread across the major cities nationally, they intend to make everyone’s university stay as luxurious as possible by offering all services in-house. This means that you can choose a studio or a 4 bedroom apartment, while enjoying free WIFI, a fitness centre, a laundromat, a computer centre and a tranquil study area.

Based in Midrand and living onsite, they are looking for a Property Manager to take charge of managing around 1000 beds, occupied by energetic students and will have you managing a variety of departments to ensure that the building is on par with company policies, and that your tenants are living in a happy and safe environment.

This will have you dealing with facilities, utilities, suppliers, financial and staff management. Each building has an in-house facilities/operations supervisor who will look after the maintenance of the building for you, but you will have to ensure that everything is running and in good standing. This will include the security staff, health and safety policies, ensuring that lifts and HVAC maintenance are adhered to, and that transportation and canteen services are sorted. You have to be a creative thinker to implement energy saving tips and plans to ensure that you can monitor your electrical and water usage. Understanding heat pumps, air conditioning and reporting on monthly consumption will assist you in your monthly report.
