**About the role**:
**Location**:Durban

**Main responsibilities will include**:

- Provide direction and support to customers on operation and maintenance of BD instruments
- Demonstrate uses and advantages of the products, provide appropriate feedback to the organization and help build strong customer loyalty.
- Troubleshoot problems that arise at customer sites and over the phone.
- Actively support sales and product management in the introduction of new products
- Presentation of the performance features of the IDS Portfolio to customers and supporting the sales team in the realization of sales targets
- Actively participation in congresses, training events and workshops
- Actively participation in the further development of processes and systems regarding efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Work closely with all colleagues in IDS and BDx where required.
- Maintain appropriate records as required by the company

**About you**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Clinical Pathology, Med Tech, or similar education
- ** 3-5 years of laboratory experience**
- Strong knowledge and expertise in the following: microbiology (TB, Blood Stream infections, ID/AST), Molecular Biology, Laboratory Management, Cytology (will be an advantage).

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- An ability to identify Diagnostic Solutions/business opportunities in relation to retention and growth strategies.
- Influencing skills - communication, listening, persuasion
- Excellent Communication and presentation Skills -verbal and nonverbal to a high standard
- Ability to work autonomously, and be capable of independently generating, prioritizing and handling own work
- Flexibility and willingness to travel in the region on a regular basis.
- Strong IT skills to be able to learn, train and troubleshoot on all BD software and remote support to customers
- Team player
- Organization skills - being able to organize workshops, seminars, meetings etc. self dependently.
