AR Accountant..

Reconcile the bank statement to the cash book and general ledger weekly, and maintain filing systems for cheques.

Responsible for petty cash and reconciliations thereof.

Supervise creditors, assist with clearing of GRN suspense account, and ensure all supplier recons are correct.

Ensure all outstanding reconciling items on Creditors, and general ledger is cleared monthly.

Assist with loading of creditors on FNB for electronic banking and payment.

Responsible for the preparation of documents for COD’s and arrange payment.

Process all journals into the Forward General ledger system.

Ensure that all expenses have been accrued in the monthly accounts, and all relevant provisions are made.

Ensures all GL balance sheet a/c’s reconciled on a monthly basis.

Maintain the fixed asset register on ERP system and recon to GL.

Liaise with the accounts receivable clerk on all monies received and ensure payments received are correctly and timeously allocated in AR ledger.

Ensure that all employee expense reports are completed properly and comply with the company’s procedure manual.

Analyze monthly costs & expenses, and prepares report analyzing trends MTD/YTD.

Control all petrol and cell phone accounts to ensure that they comply with the company’s policies and procedures.

Receive from the HR Manager all salary and wage related accounts, i.e. Medical aid, pension/provident funds, statutory requirements, etc.

Responsible to ensure that the VAT is correctly administered and paid, and vat returns submitted.

Assist Financial Manager with all financial accounting functions.

Responsible to maintain all year-end schedules as required for calculation of company tax.

Contribute to a team spirit culture, affecting the day to day business, in order to keep up high pace and high productivity.

Exercise the values of the company on a day to day basis, in order to perform & develop the requested skills and competencies.

**Qualifications**:
Matric with Mathematics, English and Accounting.

Newly Qualified Charted Accountant.

B Com Accounting Honours Degree or similar.

CA / CIMA with completed articles.

Experience

At least 3 years’ experience in General accounting and finance in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in multinational company is desired.

Practical knowledge of IFRS.

Expert Excel skills (Pivot tables, V-Lookup etc.).

Strong skills and knowledge of TAX and VAT.

Financial Management experience.

Strong ERP system manufacturing skills (SAP, Syspro, HFM, Sage or similar).

At least 3 years’ experience in General accounting and finance in a manufacturing environment,

Fluent English knowledge to ensure effective communication oral or written.
