Infrastructure Supervisor – KPMG South Africa – Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa Purpose Demand for infrastructure is rising, and KPMG’s Pan‑Africa Infrastructure Advisory team seeks a Supervisor to support leadership in delivering infrastructure solutions across the continent. Duties And Accountabilities Assist Managers, SMs, and ADs on day‑to‑day engagement delivery for projects across various stages of the infrastructure project lifecycle, including strategy, development, procurement, financing, construction, operations, and investment. Work across sub‑sectors: transport, power, utilities, social infrastructure, and real estate, for clients such as public sector entities, state‑owned entities, development partners, project developers, equity investors, and development finance institutions. Collaborate with infrastructure team members across the continent. Develop and present client materials: status reports, project reports, and presentations. Deliver engagements focusing on project risks, budgets, schedules, quality, scope, and client deliverables. Contribute to core analysis: primary and secondary research, quantitative data collection, financial modelling, business analysis, and application of methodologies to achieve client objectives. Technical Skills Project strategy and development analysis: infra planning, feasibility, business case, market analysis, procurement options, risk assessment, governance, commercial structuring, contract management, and working with legal, financial, and technical teams. Research and financial modelling skills. Experience in core sectors (power, transportation, utilities, social, telecom/digital, natural resources) and project lifecycle stages. Knowledge of alternative contract types: EPC, PPP, etc., and project financial models. Personal Attributes Capacity to coordinate multi‑disciplinary delivery teams throughout project lifecycle. Strong analytical skills: transaction structuring, value‑for‑money assessments, cost‑benefit analysis, public sector comparator analysis, payment mechanisms, performance standards, and procurement documents. Stakeholder management across public and private sectors. Goal‑driven, results‑oriented, resilient, and adaptable. Administrative and portfolio management skills. Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication in English. Experience training and mentoring junior staff. Willingness and ability to travel. Highest ethical standards. Academic Qualifications And Experience Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, development finance, engineering, or related field (master’s preferred). Professional qualification (CA/CPA, CFA, MBA, etc.) an advantage. 3+ years of relevant experience across project management, engineering, consulting, banking, private equity, or development finance with infrastructure focus.
