Medical Aid rate based on principal member only) - To be confirmed - Advert Closing Date - 2/3/2025 - Job Purpose The two posts being advertised are: ECP Lecturer Crop Production and Improvement, and ECP Lecturer in Soil Science, Fertility Management and Plant Nutrition. The purpose of these positions is to lecture and contribute to curriculum development in the Department of Agriculture while providing support to the department in pursuit of its objectives in work-based learning, community engagement and research outputs. - Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience - Master's degree in Agriculture or related fields of Plant or Soil Sciences with specialization in e.g. Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Crop Production, or Soil Sciences - Base qualification in Agriculture, or related fields of: Plant Production or Botany (Crop science Lecturer); OR Soil Sciences (Soil Science Lecturer) - At least two years' experience, one of which must be in teaching in the High Education Sector - Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities - Academic and administrative duties in the Department - Participate in curriculum development - Monitor and assess Workplace based learning - Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies - Assist with marketing and recruitment activities - Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department - Perform student assessments - Participate in research and publish research findings in DHET accredited journals - Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department - Competencies - Excellent organizational and planning skills - Presentation skills - Adaptability and continuous learning - Strong learner focus - Communication and coaching skills - Administrative skill - Teamwork - Proficiency in English - Practical knowledge and experience in the fields of specialization and community engagement within the agriculture value chain - General Information Closing date: 02 March 2025 **NB: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT ALLOW APPLICANTS TO UPLOAD CVs.
