Medical Aid rate based on principal member only)- To be confirmed- Advert Closing Date- 20/10/2024- Job PurposeThe Department of Agriculture is seeking to appoint two lecturers, one in Crop Production and Improvement, and the other in Soil Science, Fertility Management, and Plant Nutrition. The incumbents will lecture and contribute to curriculum development in the Department of Agriculture while providing support to the department in pursuit of its objectives in work-based learning, community engagement, and research outputs. - Job Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceMaster's degree in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Crop Production, and Soil Science Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, or related fields: Crop Science (Crop Science Lecturer) or Soil Sciences (Soil Science Lecturer) At least two years ' experience, one of which must be in teaching in the High Education Sector - Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities- Teach agricultural practice, crop production, plant improvement & protection, research methods **(ECP **Lecturer Crop Production and Improvement)/**teach basic soil science, soil chemistry, soil fertility management, plant nutrition and research methods **(ECP **Lecturer in Soil Science, Fertility Management and Plant Nutrition) **to undergraduate and postgraduate students - Academic and administrative duties in the Department - Participate in curriculum development - Monitor and assess workplace-based learning - Assist with marketing and recruitment activities - Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department - Perform student assessments - Participate in research and publish research findings in DHET accredited journals - Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department. - Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies - Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department - Competencies- Excellent organizational and planning skills - Presentation skill - Adaptability and continuous learning - Strong learner focus - Communication and coaching skills - Administrative skill - Teamwork - Proficiency in English - Practical knowledge and experience in the field of specialization - General InformationClosing Date: 20 October 2024 **NB: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT ALLOW APPLICANTS TO UPLOAD CVs.
