Who are we?

We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam. What will you do?
Responsible for all activities relating to the operation of data, communication and processing equipment and services including the server infrastructure and peripheral equipment in large, complex operations. Manages the functions within the operations environment. Assigns personnel to projects when necessary. Reviews and evaluates work and prepares performance reports. Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods. Consults with personnel in other information system sections to coordinate activities. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the computer operations section. What will make you successful in this role?
Plan, execute and deliver technical initiatives of varying size on time, within budget and scope with the required artefacts.
Vendor engagement and escalations.
Management of technical services, ensuring focus is given based on the data platform priority.
Participate and ensure technical team coverage for BI and Analytics requirements.
Establish and drive continuous improvement of technical services used by the Data Platform, e.g. monitoring and alerting capability.
Engagement with SGT to align and ensure fit for purpose processes and tools for the Data Platform across the technical services.
Disaster recovery preparation and coordination for the Data Platform, including reporting and remediation of any findings.
Business Continuity Management for the Data Platform consumers.
Create a roadmap and secure funding for technical services initiatives for the following year and provide input into the annual budget creation for technical services.
Assist with budget management by timeously updating the BI timesheet template for all technical resources.
Ensure the infrastructure documentation and processes are up to date.
Act as a product owner for technical/infrastructure projects.
Log, manage, report, and mitigate infrastructure risks and issues.
Service Level Management of technical services and the creation and maintenance of the technical services catalogue and related processes and artefacts.
Management & Operational Reporting Qualification
Matric
Relevant Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems is recommended
Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent is preferred
ITIL Foundation

**Knowledge**:
Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent.
ITIL V3 (or higher) Foundation.
Agile Certification is highly advantageous
Process Mapping
PowerPoint Presentations and Reporting
Understanding of BI and supporting capabilities is highly advantageous
Understanding of a DevOps team way of work is highly advantageous
Understanding of Audit and Risk Management highly advantageous

**Experience**:
Infrastructure project management.
User Training/Onboarding
Sanlam Business and IT knowledge highly advantageous
Knowledge and experience across multiple Service Management processes is highly advantageous especially Service Continuity, Incident Management, Change Management and/or Problem Management experience.
Agile delivery experience is highly advantageous
Process mapping and documentation is highly advantageous
Financial Industry and BI experience is highly advantageous
DevOps team experience is highly advantageous
Experience working with Audit and Risk Management highly advantageous
