Lead the agile solution design, deployment & ongoing optimization & evolution of enterprise wide technology products and services (full stack engineering & ownership / control) in high complexity environments.

**Job Description**:
Experience - card, payments, technology delivery
- Champion and drive digital innovation initiatives within the Card Technology team
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, fintech trends, and innovative solutions in the digital payments and card technology space
- Work closely with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize features and functionalities in the product backlog based on business value and customer needs
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the markets to plan and coordinate releases, considering both business objectives and technical dependencies
- Collaborate with technology leads to ensure that the card technology projects align with the overall technology strategy and architecture of the organization
- Conduct regular retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance team performance

- Develop and maintain a structured and comprehensive monthly reporting mechanism for stakeholders, including executives, regional bank representatives, and other key participants
- Report on the utilization of resources within the Card Technology team, ensuring that team members are appropriately allocated to projects based on skill sets and project requirements. Highlight any resource constraints and propose solutions. Address any resource constraints or skill gaps promptly
- Provide updates on project progress, key milestones achieved, and any challenges encountered
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies

Accountability: Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain senior level relationships with the business unit and within Africa Technology, on behalf of the LTP and Technical Lead
- Involves conducting all communication between stakeholders and even with the LTP and Technical Lead.
- Effectively manage third party and vendor relationships. Forges strategic partnerships to leverage technology and resources that create measurable added value for both parties, where appropriate.
- Provide trusted advice and guidance to the business unit management teams regarding the optimal use of technology including new and emerging technologies.
- Utilise knowledge of market best practice to shape the roadmaps that will benefit the business unit in terms of cost, efficiency, security, availability, productivity and financial returns / profits.

Accountability: Manage People and Performance
- Review and update the department’s organisation structure and role description on at least an annual basis to ensure that they are fit for purpose and contain all the accountabilities of each team member.
- Motivate to and obtain approval from the Head Africa Technology BU for any additional headcount for the team.
- Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognised.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of Employee Opinion Survey (EOS) actions for the team.

Accountability: Programme Management
- Exercises overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the Programme/roject to plan, budget and agreed quality and governance standards
- Manages the lead supplier in line with agreed contractual obligations, milestones and quality standards.
- Provides day to day direction to the project team
- Works with the Technology Partner to deliver effective communications and manages relationships with key stakeholders at executive and direct reports' levels across the Programme/Project Client base and technical community, ensuring continued buy-in to the Programme/Project
- Owns and drives the Programme/Project planning framework, ensuring that plans are developed and tracked to appropriate standards, are integrated effectively across all work-streams, are unambiguous and achievable, and that dependencies are clearly understood and managed
- Owns and drives the effective governance of the Programme/Project, via the Programme/Project Management Office, ensuring that Bank technical, risk and other standards and compliance requirements are met and that the Programme/Project governance framework is comprehensively defined and firmly embedded across all areas of the Programme/Project
- Manages and co-ordinate projects, their interdependencies, associated risks and issues
