Looking for a Procurement Officer for a leading business in KZN.

Must have a qualification and have worked in procurement for at least 2 years

We are looking for an astute Procurement Officer who will be primarily responsible for the Group’s procurement.

Under the supervision of the Head of PMO, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for the management of the procurement activities within the organization.

A successful Procurement Officer should be strategically minded with the ability to meticulously maintain accurate records. Ultimately, a top Procurement Officer can negotiate well and ensure that all purchases comply with company policy.

The detail:
Procurement Management
- Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies.
- Discover cost effective suppliers and initiate beneficial partnerships.
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services.
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.
- Examine and test existing contracts.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

Reporting
- Provide information and standardized reporting on a scheduled basis or as requested.
- Generate and distribute various reports, including compliance reports on existing assets and their status.
- Perform trend analyses to improve asset, license purchasing and management processes.
- Ensuring metrics are in place up front to ensure that reports are readily available.
- Reports are to include all current challenges being faced along with suggested solutions.

Relationship Management
- A team player who works well with multiple teams.
- Take part in various projects and initiatives, providing support to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Assets Administrator determine trends in asset performance.
- Keep deliverables on track and information flowing.
- Conflict management. Identify and handle conflict sensibly, fairly, and efficiently.

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (required)
