**Procurement Officer**

Seeking an experienced procurement officer responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services for the organisation. Maintaining accurate purchase records, monitoring inventory levels, and evaluating supplier performance to optimize the supply chain.
- **Supplier sourcing**:
Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers to find the best quality products at the most competitive prices.
- **Contract negotiation**:
Negotiating contract terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment conditions with suppliers.
- **Purchase order processing**:
Creating and managing purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- **Inventory management**:
Monitoring stock levels and managing inventory to avoid overstocking or shortages.
- **Vendor relationship management**:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth procurement processes.
- **Compliance management**:
Ensuring adherence to company procurement policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
- **Cost analysis**:
Identifying opportunities to reduce costs through price negotiations, supplier selection, and cost optimization strategies.
- **Market research**:
Staying updated on market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to make informed procurement decisions.
- **Reporting and analysis**:
Generating reports on procurement activities, spending patterns, and supplier performance metrics.
- **Risk management**:
Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with procurement, such as supply chain disruptions or quality issues.

**Required skills**:

- **Strong negotiation skills**: Ability to negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers
- **Analytical skills**: Analyzing data to make informed procurement decisions
- **Communication skills**: Effective communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- **Attention to detail**: Ensuring accuracy in purchase orders, contracts, and documentation
- **Project management skills**: Managing procurement projects from initiation to completion
- **Knowledge of procurement processes**: Understanding the procurement lifecycle and best practices
- **IT Literate**:Literate and advanced Excel skills**,**have the ability to work independently with v-look-ups and pivot tables, create forms and templates to improve workflows

**Required experience for a procurement officer**:

- Have at least 3 years experience in a procurement role with high inventory stock items and ERP System experience
- Experience on Kerridge Commerical Sysytems a large advantage
- Experience in the Mining and Construction sector an advantage
