The hospital maintenance manager is responsible for the execution of procedures and tasks to clean, prepare, and up keep hospital facilities. Assuming responsibility for repairs and maintenance. Assist in ensuring a safe, attractive and enjoyable working environment.

**Further Role Breakdown**
- Ensure a neat environment and required safety measures are in place at all times
- Ensure Registers are signed as per requirements
- Maintenance of equipment when required
- General maintenance of the facility
- Liaise with general service providers and the Landlord regarding any required repairs
- See to a general tidiness of the facility.
- Perform minor repairs
- Install appliances and equipment
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
- Inspect and ensure repair to all damages of building surfaces
- Participate and oversee different projects (e.g. renovations)
- Assist with screening of patients

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years in hospital/maintenance environment.
- Previous general worker experience
- Knowledge and understanding of cleaning and maintenance of building, furniture and equipment
- Knowledge of safety hazards
- Knowledge of planning, organisational skills, ordering of supplies and quality assurance.
- Planning and organizing.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditions.
- The ability to display a good customer-focus by developing and sustaining productive customer relationships.
- Available to work flexible hours if and when required.
