Healthcare Facility Manager

La Vie is a rapidly growing private group of sub-acute hospitals and frail care facilities dedicated to providing the highest quality, personalized care to each individual resident within a home-like and nurturing environment.
The primary responsibility will be to oversee the overall operations of our facility in Johannesburg North, which is both a frail care and in the process of registering as a sub-acute hospital. This role involves ensuring La Vie remains a preferred choice for frail care and soon, patients transitioning to a sub-acute hospital. You will also lead initiatives to raise awareness of our frail care nursing homes in the area, playing a crucial role in community outreach programs.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Operational Management**: Oversee all aspects of facility operations, ensuring smooth functioning of both the frail care services and the upcoming sub-acute hospital wing.
- **Compliance and Quality Assurance**: Ensure the facility adheres to all health and safety standards, regulatory requirements, and maintains the highest level of care quality.
- **Team Leadership and Staff Development**: Lead and inspire a team of healthcare professionals; oversee staff recruitment, training, and professional development.
- **Resident Care Coordination**: Oversee the delivery of personalized, compassionate care to all residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- **Facility Maintenance and Management**: Ensure the facility is well-maintained, safe, and conducive to the wellbeing of residents and staff.
- **Community Engagement and Relationship Building**: Develop and implement strategies for community outreach to enhance the visibility and reputation of La Vie in the local area.
- **Liaison with Healthcare Providers**: Establish and maintain relationships with hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers to ensure a smooth transition for patients moving to La Vie’s care.
- **Financial Performance**: Take ownership of the facility financial performance, ensuring optimal use of resources to ensure sustainability.
- **Patient and Family Support**: Provide support to residents and their families, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience at La Vie.
- **Marketing and Public Relations**: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote La Vie’s services, contributing to public relations efforts and the development of promotional materials.
- **Reporting and Documentation**: Ensure accurate and timely reporting on facility operations, resident care, staff performance, and compliance matters.
**Requirements**:
- Background in the medical industry, preferably with experience in nursing or healthcare management.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare (or similar industry) management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, and resource optimization within a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in managing multiple tasks with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- A compassionate approach, with the ability to provide support to residents and their families, ensuring a positive experience.
- Strong networking abilities with the capacity to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Familiarity with healthcare technologies and systems, including electronic health records. Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Must pass a thorough background check, including references and criminal history.
Knowledge of South African healthcare market and regulatory requirements is a plus.
