**DUTIES**
- Provides commercial input during Reviews, Kick-off Meetings, Weekly & Monthly Internal & External Project Progress Meetings, Risk Review Meetings.
- Provides constructive commercial support and advice to Project Manager.
- Manages commercial close-out of contracts/purchase orders on Projects.
- For claims, reviews and recommends claim approval/ rejection.
- Interrogates commercial agreements for inclusion of key performance measures
- Chairs claims review meetings with suppliers, contractors, service providers and EPCMs, as required.
- Ensures that procurement activities are conducted within commercial guidelines, company code of ethics, governance, procurement procedures to ensure conformity with all laws, regulations, and government agency guidelines.
- Obtains input and buy-in internally and externally from cross functions.
- Leads the incorporation of KPIs, including Earned Value Management criteria, into all contracts and evaluate suppliers against the KPIs.
- Manages engineering contractors, service providers and suppliers in accordance with the provisions of the contract.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- NHD/BTech/BSc Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Construction Management is essential
- Minimum of eight (8+) years of experience in the area of contracts and commercial management in the mining or heavy industrial environment is essential
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience associated with engineering, procurement, and construction for Mining and/ or heavy industrial industries.
- Experience in Project commercial management with relevant contracts (Lump Sum, Unit Rate, Reimbursable, etc.) is essential
- Thorough and extensive knowledge of commercial management and contract management is essential
- Good written and verbal communication skills and Team skills
- Project commercial planning and sourcing experience in multi-discipline mining, minerals and/ or chemical processing projects and studies is essential
- Commercial experience in:

- multi-discipline mining and minerals processing projects and studies
- EPC / EPCM experience in either a consulting company or mining company
- Leads the evaluation and suitability of vendors or service providers in accordance with Project requirements and determine a list of potential bidders on various packages, on behalf of Marula Mine.
- Ensures the RFQ, bid evaluation and contract award process progresses in time and within budget.

**Salary**: R40,000.00 per month

**Education**:

- Bachelors (preferred)

**Experience**:

- contracts and commercial management in mining industry: 8 years (preferred)
