Forklift Operator

The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of (ALL) equipment's and may also be required to perform Checker duties. to also handle, load, unload, move, locate, relocate, stack, package, and count merchandise/material/product manually or using automated equipment, the Operator is also accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment’s.

**Task and Responsibilities**:

- The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of (ALL) equipment's and may also be required to perform Checker duties. to also handle, load, unload, move, locate, relocate, stack, package, and count merchandise/material/product manually or using automated equipment.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage and/or processing locations.
- Efficiently handle, stack, and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances to Production Supervisor.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number (bar-code) and type of product is handled, loaded, and shipped/transported. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trucks (rail or road).
- Maintain the equipment, work area and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment as the case may be before commencement of duty.
- Perform a safety inspection, identify, note, and report all Class A & B hazards
- Work/operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods/Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse/plant.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
- Comply with OHSA and client standards.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Matric/Grade 12
- 1-2 years’ experience as general operator in a warehouse / Plant environment
- Must have a valid Drivers and Forklift license
