Company Assistant Buyer

- Provide strong assistance to the Company Buyer, receiving and storage staff with accountability, ownership and responsibility.
- Expedite orders and follow up on outstanding orders with suppliers.
- Assist production and manufacturing with urgent stock requests and shortages.
- Control and manage the use, storage and returns of returnable packaging. This function must result in mínimal losses from damages or unauthorized use.
- Maintain good and courteous relationships with suppliers but ensure these relationships are to the best interests of the company.
- Review / risk analyse existing suppliers and raise concerns with the Company Buyer.
- Supervise accurate inventory counting processes and information management to result in reliable product demand reports and available inventory. Ensure the activation of these processes are maintained in line with the relevant systems.
- Maintain filling system for all approved / signed purchase.
- Administrate functions required to ensure SAGE outstanding order report is accurate at all times.
- Perform on going risk assessments on receiving / storage and internal processes. This includes reporting findings with proactive suggestions to remove health, safety, environmental and fraud risks to the business. Report all observations to C/Buyer and Manufacturing Manager.
- Ensure the accurate implementation of the company’s procurement and expense processes. Providing oversight and activation supervision as necessary.
- Assist the creditors department with queries and account issues.
- Filling and general administrative functions.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Previous experience in a buying for a chemical manufacturing / production business - minimum 2 years.
- Commerce degree / diploma aligned to procurement or stock management or warehousing.
- Previous experience in using ISO9001 as an active quality management system.
- Strong attention to detail, observation and problem-solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of mathematic and data analysis.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Good planning, multitasking and time management skills
- Personal principles that are aligned to the company’s values.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
