**Lazer Operator**

Spot Signs based in Centurion has the following vacancy to start as soon as possible. The Laser Operator is primarily responsible for operating 2 x laser cutters, but also is able to run the computer-controlled CNC cutting table. This position does not program or modify the objects to be cut, but is responsible for some nesting functions, consumable changes, and setup for the many materials of varying thicknesses we use.

**Essential Job Functions**

**Laser related Duties**:

- Confirm beam alignment.
- Standoff height
- Setups for all materials used.
- Lens Changes
- Lens Cleaning
- Machine maintenance
- Keep machine running.
- Good concept and practice of nesting, prioritizing, and planning.
- Good understanding of material libraries and parameters

**CNC Related Duties**:

- Setups and Nesting
- Adjust tool wear monitoring.
- Changing of bits
- Machine maintenance
- Calibration

**Required Knowledge/Skills**

**English Language** Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

**Signage Industry Experience**to have at lease 3 years signage industry experience.

**Stress Management** The ability to effectively manage stress and prioritize tasks is very important.

**Critical Thinking** The objective analysis and evaluation of an issue to form a judgment.

**Active Listening** Listening and responding to another person that improves mutual understanding.

**Active Learning** Activities, such as reading, writing, discussion, or problem solving that promote analysis, the combining of ideas, and evaluation of learned content.

**Qualifications/Prerequisites**:

- Must be at least 24 years of age.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical experience and the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with and the ability to use common measuring tools such as tape measure and callipers, is preferred.
- Able to import files and save in applicable format.
- Knowledge of Corel Draw.
- Minimum of 3 years in the signage industry

Pay: From R10 000,00 per month

**Experience**:

- Signage lazer cutting: 2 years (required)
