What will you do?

This is a specialist position that reports directly to Head of Underwriting. The role is accountable for the assessment and execution of a compliant and effective medical underwriting function in telephonic support of mainly sales from a medical underwriting perspective, but it includes support to claims and service functions.

**Key responsibilities include**:
**Assess and execute medical underwriting to support**:
⦁ Telephonic support for sales (main function)
⦁ Review of referred underwriting quotes;
⦁ Facilitating communication of medical declines to clients;
⦁ QC/QA referrals
⦁ Client policy amendments with underwriting changes/impact (Servicing)
⦁ Claims process
What will make you successful in this role?

**Qualification & experience**:
⦁ Grade 12 or preferably business or commerce degree/diploma
⦁ Experience in financial distribution services/sales/call centre environment
⦁ Experience in processing of new business in a life insurance
⦁ 2-3 years underwriting experience
⦁ Nursing or medical background experience

⦁ Financial services industry knowledge
⦁ Financial services product knowledge
⦁ Relevant regulatory legislation and compliance knowledge

⦁ Underwriting processes and guiding principles (advanced)

⦁ Call Centre and sales processes
