-The main purpose of this position is to provide team leadership within the systems administration function of the Economic Statistics Department (ESD) to ensure quality economic statistics. -Detailed Description Fulfil the team leadership function pertaining to the performance and the development of the team as well as the optimisation and management of resources. - Plan work for self and others in the team, supervise the quality of work and facilitate the delivery of section-specific outputs, in line with relevant policies. - Identify system process inefficiencies, risks and internal control deficiencies, and implement processes to mitigate the impact thereof. - Administer and maintain ESD databases, including changes, testing and ensuring that controls are maintained. - Participate in new ESD information and communications technology (ICT) projects and systems enhancement initiatives by providing key input during all phases of project management. - Compile, analyse and provide reports with recommendations on ESD system functions and processes. - Effectively manage internal and external stakeholder relationships. - Manage the process related to the dissemination of the Quarterly Bulletin’s economic statistics. - Develop and maintain relevant training material and conduct training interventions within ESD. Job Requirements a postgraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics or Economics; and - five to eight years’ job-related experience, with at least three years supervisory experience. Additional requirements include: proficiency in the use of Microsoft (MS) Office products such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; - an affinity for statistics and economic analysis; - knowledge of system integrations and service management; - working knowledge of database administration; - understanding of business intelligence; - service and stakeholder focused; - in-depth understanding of information technology governance; - time management skills to operate in a deadline-driven environment; - ability to develop and growth others; - excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); - excellent report-writing skills; - initiative and problem-solving skills; - analytical skills; - ability to pay attention to detail; and - good interpersonal skills.
