Position Purpose:_**
- Leads the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive Quality Assurance & Improvement

Programme (QAIP) in line with the requirements of Attribute Standard 1300 of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and

regulatory requirements;
- Manages and oversees the review and consolidation of audit reports and key themes within Transnet to ensure relevant

and useful information is provided to various stakeholders;
- Develop audit and stakeholder reporting templates that meet user requirements;
- Drives and facilitates the development and implementation of the risk based internal audit plan for Transnet.

Position outputs:_**

3.1. Technical Guidance and Technical Excellence
- Provide strategic leadership, and coaching to the Technical and Quality Assurance and TIA assurance teams to

ensure compliance to the standards and best practice;
- Lead the resolution of technical queries regarding internal audit functioning or internal audit client facing effort;
- Design and implement programs for providing training to TIA staff and Transnet in general on internal audit technical

updates and general internal audit training;
- Oversee the professional development, including CPD management, of practitioners and learnerships (Young

professionals in Training) programs within the TIA function;
- Perform technical and quality assurance research, and benchmark against the leading organisations and Internal

Audit Functions across the globe to recommend and drive best practice in all functions of TIA.

3.2. Quality assurance and improvement program (QAIP)
- Develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive Quality Assurance & Improvement Programme (QAIP) in line with

the requirements of Attribute Standard 1300 of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and regulatory requirements;
- Set technical and quality assurance objectives, key performance areas, key performance measures and indicators;
- Maintain an appropriate technical and quality assurance structure, resource plans and embed conducive culture to

support the quality assurance objectives;
- Constantly track compliance with the IA Charter and IIA Standards through embedding compliance to the TIA

methodology and the Code of Ethics;
- Develop and maintain strong integrated relationship with internal, connected, and external stakeholders to promote

dynamic and collaborative quality assurance processes;
- Maintains conformance with International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) mandatory elements by

enforcing Quality Assurance & Improvement Programme (which include both internal and external assessments), approved

TIA Framework and Methodology aligned to IIA standards and regulatory requirements. This includes setting up and

over-seeing the 5-year external Quality Assurance Reviews (QAR) of the TIA function;
- Managing quality of different audit teams from the hybrid resourced department which will include service provider

teams;
- Ensure that TIA maintains QAR status that the function “Conforms with the International Standards for the

Professional Practice of Internal Auditing”.
- Reports on performance against technical and quality key performance targets to the GM Governance and Reporting

and the TIA leadership.

3.3 Manages and oversees the review, analysis and consolidation of audit reports to identify key themes and ensure

relevant and useful information is provided to various governance forums and stakeholders;
- Develop and implement reporting templates that align to the IIA standards and wider stakeholder requirements;
- Collate all audit reports within Transnet, e.g. consolidate reports from TIA, forensic, external audit, compliance and

risk management;
- Identify key themes and vital management action plans emanating from all audit reports and package these into user

friendly reports for Audit Committee and management;
- Support TIA with reports and information for various governance forum reporting;
