Velocity Fibre is a leading infrastructure contractor working with South Africa’s largest Fibre Network Operators (FNOs). We are looking for a Head of Maintenance to lead and scale our national maintenance operations across all live fibre areas. This is a critical role that ensures Velocity delivers on its promise of quality, uptime, and long-term infrastructure reliability.

**About the Role**

As Head of Maintenance, you’ll be responsible for building and managing the full post-installation maintenance operation, covering fault response, preventative maintenance, SLA performance, contractor coordination, and reporting.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with strong technical experience, excellent team management skills, and a passion for operational excellence.

**Key Responsibilities**

Build and lead a national fibre maintenance division across all regions

Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, fault resolution, and preventative programmes

Ensure SLAs with FNOs and clients are consistently met or exceeded

Manage and mentor regional maintenance teams, field technicians, and subcontractors

Develop efficient processes for ticketing, dispatch, spares tracking, and reporting

Work closely with project delivery and network operations teams to ensure seamless handover into maintenance

Implement systems for real-time monitoring, reporting, and quality control

Establish and monitor KPIs for responsiveness, resolution times, and client satisfaction

**What We’re Looking For**

6+ years’ experience in fibre network maintenance, telecoms, or utilities

Strong understanding of FTTH, FTTB, and MDU network infrastructure and fault resolution

Proven leadership of regional or national maintenance teams

Knowledge of fault ticketing systems, network testing tools, and splicing standards

Ability to implement and manage operational systems at scale

Experience working with or for major FNOs is a strong advantage

Technical qualification in telecoms, engineering, or related fields preferred
