The ambition: to deliver 5 GW of renewable projects by 2030.

The Role

The Head of O&M is a strategic and operational leadership role within the Asset Operations division, responsible for leading all Operations & Maintenance activities across EDF Power Solutions' infrastructure portfolio. You will manage internal O&M teams, contractual interfaces, and plant performance while embedding a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the transition from outsourced BoP O&M to internal service delivery

  • Build, mentor, and manage O&M teams, including Plant Managers and Supervisors

  • Ensure full HSE compliance, fulfil legal appointments, and drive proactive safety culture

  • Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance across all sites

  • Drive KPIs for availability, reliability, and downtime response

  • Standardise O&M systems, tools, and procedures across the portfolio (e.g. CMMS, monitoring tools)

  • Manage subcontractors, service providers, and O&M budgets, with full P&L responsibility

  • Engage with stakeholders including SPVs, landowners, grid operators, and local authorities

  • Support project teams with commissioning, operability, and lessons learned feedback

  • Ensure compliance with international O&M standards and share best practices across the group

What You'll Need
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (essential)

  • Postgraduate or certifications in asset management, project management, or safety management (preferred)

Experience:
  • 10+ years' experience in O&M for utility-scale energy infrastructure (substations, BoP, overhead lines)

  • 5+ years' leadership experience, managing large teams and budgets

  • Proven track record managing cost, risk, and delivery in large-scale infrastructure projects

  • Experience in renewable energy (wind/solar) highly advantageous

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills

  • Excellent knowledge of contract management, claims, and procurement

  • Strategic thinker with strong planning, organisational, and reporting abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software

  • Willingness to travel and a valid driver's licence
