Product Manager: Marketplace

Role purpose:
The incumbent will need to develop, scale and manage a portfolio of lending products, taking them through the stages of the product life cycle as well as:

- Keep pace with the latest in industry technology developments as well as the broader regulatory environment;
- Improve the overall revenue contribution and performance of lending products ;
- Form part of a cross-functional team, developing lending products that improve the overall business lending value proposition across market segments;
Must have technical / professional qualifications:

- Matric essential
- Relevant 3/4 year Business degree essential
- Minimum of 8 years' experience within the Product development essential
- Fintech or Business Lending experience preferred

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

- Prior business lending product design and development experience is essential
- A detailed knowledge understanding of a the fast paced fintech lending industry is essential
- Understanding of regulatory requirements essential;
- Understanding of system requirements to launch digital lending offerings preferred;
Key Accountabilities
- Build and manage a business lending marketplace through our branded online platform;
- Identify, integrate and manage potential third party delivery and product partners;
- Third party contract negotiation;
- Manage a cross-functional team to create and maintain business lending originations platform and marketplace;
- Work with other Product managers to ensure owned or branded products are enabled through the originations platform and exposed through the marketplace;
- Accountable for all relevant product documentation;
- Defining business rules and working with customer experience teams to define and refine new and existing customer journeys
- Providing inputs and evaluation for financial business cases
- Work with Business development manager and marketing to create revenue projections and forecasts; and analyse and identify shortfalls and areas of improvement
- Provide insights to the broader team around innovation and developments within the Business Lending and Fintech industry
- To regularly review launched products to ensure the performance is in line with initial assumptions and implement corrective measures if needed and also look at how to improve/enhance products
- Keep track of competitor launches and take measures to mitigate risks
- Daily, weekly and Monthly product performance reports and occasional presentations to senior management team
- Creating and managing product backlogs ensuring products and features make it all the way through ideation, design, development and ultimately scale
