General Manager

The General Manager Operations will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of warehousing, logistics, breakdowns, labour, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborating with departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
- Establishing performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain
- Maintaining detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the warehouses, at other sites, and in the company
- Analysing current inventories and procedures with General Manager Sales to facilitate optimising space and service delivery
- Develop supply chain systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping
- Identifying optimal shipment and transportation routes and schedules to enhance profitability and customer satisfaction
- Monitoring performance of suppliers by assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
- Manage the on-road breakdown service by maximising inhouse resources and establish an effective external service provider network
- Recruit, train, assign, schedule, coach, and discipline employees
- Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, and review job performance
- Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
- Forecast requirements; prepare an annual department budget; schedule expenditures; analyse variances; initiating corrective actions
- Analyse and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations to ensure a safe, injury/accident-free workplace
- Ensure all certification of equipment and tools are up to date
- Responsible for all department managers and supervisors, with review/approval responsibility for all operations employees
- Responsible for all aspects of vehicles, equipment, tools maintenance, certification, and replacement policies
- Manage the pricing, rebates, and service levels of all suppliers
- Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted final approval and payment
- Communicate customer issues with operations and the supply chain and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
- Effective communication and collaboration with other departments to develop and implement processes and systems to enhance the workflow, productivity and customer and staff satisfaction
- Work closely with the Managing Director and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation

**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Supply Chain or relevant field will be advantageous.
- Operations Management in Warehousing/Logistics/Supply Chain/Automotive Industries on a senior level will be preferred
