**Purpose of the Job**:
To supervise all staff in the Warehouse to ensure that daily targets are met. That operations pertaining to picking, checking and packing are supervised and relevant policies and procedures are complied with.

**Job Objectives**:
**1. PEOPLE**
- Daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing to respond to work demands in a productive, cost effective and timely manner.
- Responsible for training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensure staff productivity by placing staff in all relevant areas.
- Ensure all workers are wearing the correct PPE.
- Administer leave for all employees in the shift.
- Responsible for all Forward Planning.
- Compile daily complement report and send to the Shift Manager.
- Ensure all toolbox tasks are completed before shift starts.
- Ensure the shift runs well and queries are dealt with timeously in liaison with the Shift Manager.

**2. PROCESS**
- Ensure that process compliance is checked.
- Check reports on the system hourly and immediately take appropriate action if necessary.
- Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
- Ensure Housekeeping is done at the end of each shift.
- Ensure Cycle count is accurately done on each shift.

**3. FINANCE**
- Perform personnel administration when necessary.
- Ensure employees are paid the correct rates.
- Manage overtime worked and scheduled.

**4. RISK**
- Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe work environment ensuring that safety related procedures are followed and all equipment is properly functioning and maintained.
- Attend Health and Safety meetings.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Matric / NQF level 4 qualification

**Desirable**
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain management

**Experience**:
**Essential**
- 2-3 years of experience in Logistics/Manufacturing/Distribution/TES or Facilities Management.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of Distribution Centre processes and systems
- Organised, efficient and task driven
- High attention to detail and problem solving ability
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills
- People management principles
- Be accountable and be able to take responsibility departments
- High resilience to stress and assertiveness
- Ability to adapt and respond to change
