**The Role**
Choreograph Consulting is looking for a seasoned Project Management Lead to spearhead, develop, and optimize project delivery across Sub-Saharan Africa. This role will work to evolve a robust and scalable project management framework incorporating best practices, systems, and processes.

The primary function of the role will be to build a robust and scalable project management practice in SSA which incorporates best practice principles across systems, processes and people.

A secondary function will be to manage projects for other Choreograph Consulting markets that require additional project management.

**Key objectives**
Be accountable for the profitable, on-time delivery of the SSA portfolio of projects
Effectively manage the capacity and utilisation of the SSA delivery teams and inform resourcing decisions
Define, document and implement best practice project and programme management processes in SSA.
Build a scalable and robust PMO practice across people, processes and systems in the delivery of projects in the SSA
Actively participate in Choreograph Consulting’s regional and global PMO community of practice; sharing strategic knowledge and case studies etc.

**Responsibilities**

Client-facing SSA:

- Ensure that projects are properly scoped, resourced and delivered
- Oversee the delivery of projects from initiation to completion
- Own the development and management of project delivery documentation
- Manage and stay abreast of all dynamic project budget developments
- Ensure client expectations are managed and met across all projects
- Ensure that any project risks and issues are proactively managed and escalated
- Escalate any resourcing constraints to the relevant internal stakeholders

Client-facing other markets:

- Be the project manager for projects delivered by other markets when required
- Oversee the delivery of these projects from initiation to completion
- Ensure that projects are properly scoped, resourced and delivered
- Ensure client expectations are managed and met
- Ensure that any project risks and issues are proactively managed and escalated
- Escalate any resourcing constraints or issues to the relevant stakeholders

Internal:

- Manage the full portfolio of billable projects executed by the SSA market
- Partner with the EMEA PMO Lead in developing a best-practice community of PMs in the region
- Proactively improve the programme and project management tools and processes used by the team
- As the SSA market grows, hire, manage, and support the development of career and succession plans for PMO team members in SSA.
- Ensure reporting on the portfolio of active projects in SSA is always correct by regularly updating project plans and resourcing plans
- Liaise with finance on revenue reporting
- Cooperate and engage with the Regional PMO and other market PMOs to support each other in solving resourcing constraints and issues via the Choreograph Consulting market-to-market (M2M) resource-sharing process
- Cooperate with the Global Operations Director to facilitate the alignment of the local market team with global operational processes and change management initiatives
- Support the business development team with scope definition, project plans, costing, and insight into resources and their availability.
- For projects delivered by cross-functional teams, be the interface between the Choreograph Consulting team and the teams from other entities.
- Actively partner with business leadership on strategic decision making in commercial development, client profitability and organic growth
- Be the custodian for the full value chain of the business; covering pipeline, client acquisition and profitable delivery

**Skills and experience required**
- At least 7 years’ experience managing the delivery of projects and programmes within a technical or professional services environment.
- Proven proficiency, and experience working within a PMO environment.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- A solid commercial understanding of consulting business models
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
