A SaaS platform is looking for a General Counsel, to advise on all day-to-day, mid-term, and long-term/strategic legal matters affecting the group and work alongside all company teams to refine and maximize efficiencies and legal compliance throughout the entire company chain. Work with external counsel, the board and shareholders to maintain a transparent and proactive structure in planning for current and future capital raise events.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Be responsible for all legal matters, working alongside other teams' management and external counsel.
- Providing strategic legal advice, counsel on relevant laws, national guidelines, codes and best practices in relation to all legal matters affecting the company group.
- Staying current with global laws and practices in relation thereto.
- Helping manage all company secretarial aspects, as well as managing board and shareholder engagements and compliance.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of documents including, but not limited to, service agreements, financing agreements, shareholding and board documentation, internal company policies and all forms of data/privacy protection terms.
- Work closely with the Operation Team and also partner with internal support functions like Finance, HR, IT and the office of the CEO.

Day to Day Responsibilities
- Assist the Sales Team in drafting service agreements and order forms;
- Maintain company secretarial compliance (checks or proactive engagement/drafting);
- Work with management of various teams to refine legal compliance and efficiencies generally;
- Engaging with third parties for legal, sales or other negotiations or discussions

**REQUIREMENTS**
- LLB (essential)
- Attorneys Admission certificate (desirable)
- 5+ years Post-Qualification Experience in commercial / regulatory / secretarial legal practice
- Previous work as a GC or general legal practitioner in private practice / in-house (desirable)

**Salary**: Up to R50 000,00 per month
