**Job Summary**: Old Company, New Role.

A significant private landlord in the Cape Town area, our client has amassed a large portfolio of residential, retail and commercial properties over more than 8 decades. This family office has a personal connection with long standing tenants and partners, and does all property management, maintenance, billing, marketing, transactional work and development in-house. Whilst their team of over 300 staff have a variety of skills, they have never before hired a legal professional in-house, with these duties being shared among the executives or outside council being sought. However, with a significant number of transactions on the cards and a growing portfolio, they are looking to in-source legal services now too.

An admitted attorney is required to assist the executive in all legal matters pertaining to sales and lease agreements, human resources, contract vetting and negotiation as well as advice on risk and compliance as it pertains to property law. Being a position they have never hired before, they are looking for someone who is able to take initiative in all aspects of their business, who can think creatively in order to ensure that business objectives are met without needless complications, but with commercial foresight. An advisor rather than a litigator, your role will see you managing relationships with auditors and outside council as and when it becomes necessary.

It would suit someone with a minimum of 5 years' post article experience who has proven expertise in commercial property transactions, living in Cape Town, who is adaptable but boasts a stable career history.
