Senior Professional Officer (Legal) - Cape Town
The TES employee(s) will be responsible for the following function/ work:
1. LEGAL CASE MANAGEMENT (Overseeing legal support and advisory processes where the Human Settlement Directorate is required to defend or take a specific stance on housing/ human settlement related matters)
2. ADVISORY SERVICE (Provide legal advice/ support within the Directorate and to Political structures within the City regarding HS related issues)
3. LEGISLATIVE/ LEGAL RESEARCH (Conducting research on housing legal matters/ case law/ applicable legislation/ housing policies and processes)
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT (COMPLIANCE) Ensures that the systems, procedures and instructions are complied with.
5. COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING (Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders)
6. SPECIALISED ADVISORY SERVICE (Provides a specialised advisory service to the Executive Director on all human settlement matters e.g. HS initiatives/ projects/ activities/reports/ plans, etc)
7. MANAGEMENT AND EMPOWERMENT OF STAFF (Directs and controls outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within when required)
**The TES employee(s) must meet the following requirements**:
**Qualification**: Relevant Degree in Law or equivalent National Diploma in Public Management/ Law, Code EB Driver's License, Computer Literacy - Office Applications.
**Experience**: 5 - 8 years' relevant experience
