Portfolio Operations Manager

**Job purpose**

Responsible for leading the operational delivery of investment funds managed by Edge Growth Ventures. Accountable for the reporting and delivery of operations processes and policies, investor relations, governance compliance, legal and finance procedures to ensure seamless business delivery of fund operations and administration activities.

**Core activities**

**Operations Management**:

- Ensure Portfolio operations infrastructure in place to enable delivery from a legal, governance, compliance, finance, processes and systems perspective
- Align and optimise operations across Portfolios and workstreams to ensure effective day to day delivery
- Coordinate, prepare for and facilitate monthly Fund operations team meetings
- Manage fund marketing collateral and online media

**Investor Relations and Stakeholder Management**:

- Proactively lead and manage investor and stakeholder relations, reporting and communications
- Lead and manage quarterly investor relations rhythms
- Prepare for and facilitate stakeholder meetings
- Document quarterly Fund reports and communications
- Support investor enquiries (written and verbal)
- Review quarterly investor statements
- Support capital raising processes and initiatives

**Project Management**:

- Manage strategic operations projects and initiatives
- Manage the delivery of project stakeholders
- Support IP development and knowledge management
- Prepare for and manage strategic fund events

**Financial Administration**:

- Lead and support Fund finance processes and rhythms
- Support the reconciliation of monthly cash flow statements
- Support annual budget, audit, tax and reporting processes
- Support monthly invoicing and payments process
- Support the loading and authorisation of payments on bank
- Manage FICA requirements on bank accounts

**Business Process Optimisation**:

- Understand fund operational policies and procedures
- Suggest improvements to operational processes
- Implement improved processes

**Leadership**:

- Build the capability & capacity of the operations team through coaching, retention, development, mentoring a high calibre team.
- Enable a strategic operations function by cascading the appropriate culture, strategy and structure across teams
- Ensure appropriate training, learning and development opportunities are in place for team members

**Corporate Governance**:

- Oversee internal operational controls and delegations
- Drive Portfolio Governance Rhythms and calendar
- Lead preparation for Board meetings
- Implement, manage and monitor business policies
- Support the induction and delivery of Board Members
- Interface with key stakeholders on ad hoc communications

**Procurement Management**:

- Manage fund procurement and supplier contracting
- Draft and review supplier contracts
- Conduct supplier service performance reviews
- Manage supplier payments

**Legal and Compliance**:

- Support Fund legal and regulatory compliance
- Implement annual fund compliance rhythms
- Support compliance reporting and communications
- Manage signing and storage of legal agreements
- Support the setup of new Funds
- Support the management of legal opinions and registers

**Qualification**
- Experience / Degree with strong problem solving and quantitative underpinning (e.g. Commerce, Business Science)
- Project Management, Investor Relations, Operations, Compliance and / or Financial Management Training.
- MBA, PMBOK, CA or CFA advantageous

**Experience**
- 7+ years experience in financial services sector operations, finance, project management and / or business consulting.
- Client and stakeholder relationship management experience favourable.
- Proactive and enthusiastic management style, willing to get hands dirty where needed.
