Senior Planning Manager: Womenswear
An exciting and challenging position has become available in the Planning Department of Foschini Womenswear for a Snr Planning Manager. Let your passion for retailing, affiliation for figures, confidence, motivation, strong leadership and planning experience add value to this dynamic company.
**Responsibilities**:
- To interpret the overall merchandise strategy and develop a high-level Merchandise financial plan by department for sales, stock margins, GP, Closing stock, markdowns and stock turn.
- To lead and manage end to end location strategy to ensure desired outcomes are achieved, i.e. to the right stock at the right store at the right time for current bricks and mortar as well as e-commerce store locations.
- Balances a complex set of variables on an on-going basis to ensure the financial outcome is achieved.
- To manage the departmental inventory in line with the financial targets
- Trade with teams driving Quick Response and profitability
- To Lead, Manage and leverage production capacity projections with manufacturing partmer the demand planners with the TFG replenishment system for the most profitable sales I,e ideal inventory parameters by category by grade of store
- To compile and produce reports to ensure visibility of correct information in order to take corrective action to maintain and/or improve profitability.
- Identify potential business risks (overselling, underselling, overstock, buying margin) and proposing corrective action and ensuring execution thereof.
- To build high performance teams through effective people management and skills development to ensure capability to meet current and future business objectives.
- To work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the business plan and an effective and efficient supply chain.
- Strong Leadership skills as well as negotiation skills are required with a good track record building strong relationships with various stakeholders internally and internationally
The successful incumbent will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Merchandise Planning, with a preference to previous Cosmetics Planning Management experience.
- A post graduate business qualification is desirable
- Experience within an omni retail environment
- A history of achievement and delivering results within a fast paced retail environment
- Experience in scenario and promotional planning will be advantageous
- Systems, procedures orientated
- Strong understanding of customer demographics
- In-depth knowledge of the Planning process in retail, particularly dealing with branded product
- Financial planning
- Category management
- People management and have led a team of planners
- Business Acumen & Agility
- Problem solving and analytical thinking
