As a **MySQL**Database Administrator** you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of systems.

**What will you be doing as a MySQL Database Administrator at Elixirr Digital?**

- Provide DBA support to our data integration and business intelligence teams
- Identify impact on our current code base for DDL schema changes
- Configure and maintain database and processes
- Monitor system's health and performance
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities

**Competencies and skillset we expect you to have to successfully perform your job**:

- Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers
- Experience with Bash scripting in Linux/Unix environment
- Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization
- Familiarity with database security best practices
- Experience with backup, restore, and high-availability solutions for MySQL
- Proficient in Linux system administration and shell scripting
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket)

**Bonus points if you have**:

- Experience with other scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)
- Experience handling and analyzing complex scientific datasets
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS)
- Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with data integration and/or traditional ETL
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
