CCTV Technician

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Grade 12
Electrical Engineering/IT Diploma will be advantageous

EXPERIENCE:
Working knowledge of CCTV equipment, including cameras, DVRs, and monitors and all Access Control
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
Good computer skills, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
2-3 years technical experience, intensive troubleshooting skills and fault-finding exposure.
2-3 years CCTV and Access control experience and knowledge.
Understanding of tools and grasping new technology needed to complete repairs
Exceptional Troubleshooting skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installation and Maintenance:
Install, maintain, and repair CCTV systems, including cameras, DVRs (Digital Video Recorders), monitors, and associated cabling and hardware.
Repairing and installation of cable and or equipment in the Access Control and CCTV environment.
Conduct site surveys to determine optimal camera placement, ensuring coverage of critical areas for surveillance.
Cabinets trunking and maintenance
Repair / replace access control cable or equipment as per agreement between the service department and maintenance and per client SLA
Installation and Maintenance of boom gates and turnstiles
Configuration and Programming:
Configure and program CCTV systems for recording. This involves setting up features like motion detection and scheduling recording times.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with CCTV systems. This includes identifying hardware faults and software glitches.
Provide efficient solutions to ensure the system remains functional.
Testing equipment, diagnosing and repairing defects
Client Training:
Train clients on operating CCTV systems. This includes teaching them how to review footage, export video clips, and manage system settings.
Network Integration:
Implement network configurations for IP-based CCTV systems. Ensuring secure and efficient data transmission is essential.
System Upgrades:
Upgrade CCTV systems by integrating new technologies, enhancing system capabilities, and expanding coverage areas.
