EHS Coordinator

Howden South Africa Division is looking for an experienced EHS Coordinator to ensure that the customer sites where Howden performs maintenance and installations comply with SHE standards (internal, client standards, and statutory compliance).

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

What needs to be done?

1. Accountable for EHS on the various Maintenance and GO sites to ensure Howden complies legally and with its own internal procedures.
2. Responsible for the safety administration and conducting job observations, recording safety requests/complaints/near misses, and investigating all incidents.
3. Accountable for the rollout of all safety requirements to sites and providing feedback to ensure compliance with internal safety requirements.
4. Conduct audits on subcontractors before allowing them onto site to determine compliance levels and suggest corrective actions.
5. Assess risks on sites and write risk assessments and safe work procedures to enable work to be done.
6. SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.

Your Education Should Be…

1. Grade 12
2. Safety Management Diploma
3. SAMTRAC
4. ISO 45001 certified will be an additional advantage
5. ISO 9000 Safety and quality certified will be an additional advantage
6. ISO 14000 environmental certified
7. OHSAS 18001 certified

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

1. 5 years’ experience in a similar position
2. Incident and Accident investigation course
3. HIRA course
4. Basic SHE audit course
5. Extensive SHE exposure in industrial or manufacturing environment
6. Microsoft Office experience
