POSITION SUMMARY

Function

The successful incumbents are required to perform duties ensuring the upkeep of all Guest Rooms and Public Areas, while complying with all required COVID-19 practices and protocols in accordance with Marriott International Policies and Procedures.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 1 - 2 years' experience in Housekeeping in a 4 or 5 Star Hotel
  • Professional disposition
  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Customer and Service Delivery focused
  • Ability to perform physically challenging tasks
  • Ensure uniform, personal appearance and hygiene is clean and professional at all times
  • Be able to work within a team
  • Attention to detail pertaining to area of responsibility
  • Required to work rostered shifts and irregular hours as per operational requirements
  • Flexible working hours as well as available to work weekends and Public holidays as per operational requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs cleaning and related functions within the housekeeping department
  • Responds promptly to requests from guests and other departments
  • Access to guest rooms while complying with required policies and procedures
  • Fills carts with supplies and transports carts to assigned areas
  • Replaces guest amenities and supplies in rooms
  • Replaces dirty linens with clean items and makes beds
  • Cleans bathrooms
  • Removes trash, dirty linen, and room service items
  • Checks that all appliances are present in the room and in working order
  • Straightens desk items, furniture, and appliances
  • Dusts, polishes, and removes marks from walls and furnishings
  • Vacuums carpets and performs floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways
  • Folllows all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Reports any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • Completes safety training and certifications
  • Properly stores flammable materials
  • Welcomes and acknowledges all guests according to company standards
  • Anticipates and addresses guests' service needs
  • Requires ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces
  • Performs duties within the housekeeping department as and when required
