The low-income communities we work with are full of enterprising people who are eager to improve their lives. However, they often face significant challenges, including lack of access to jobs, markets, and resources. This is where TechnoServe comes in – we provide training, mentorship, and other forms of support to help these entrepreneurs grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

We are currently seeking a Business Development Strategist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in helping us achieve our mission by developing and implementing business strategies that drive growth and development in low-income communities.

As a Business Development Strategist, your primary responsibility will be to oversee advisory services and conduct all program activities and training services to beneficiaries. You will work closely with the Senior Business Specialist to develop customized capacity-building programs for small and medium-sized growing recovery businesses, as well as promote connections among market participants in targeted recycling routes.

You will also be responsible for gathering market intelligence and monitoring performance, ensuring that our programs are meeting their intended goals. Additionally, you will be expected to perform any tasks necessary within the context of the evolving needs of the project.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Business Enterprise, Project Management, or relevant Social Sciences/Humanities related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability in working with small and growing businesses for at least 4 years
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, data collection and analysis, digital training delivery, and report writing
  • Ability to engage and advise a broad range of stakeholders, including senior management of private sector companies, donor representatives, and others
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing
  • Experience in the waste management or recycling sector

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum (dependent on location)
