Job Title: Junior Accountant

Sagen Advisory is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team on a six-month fixed-term contract basis. As a Junior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Divisional Accountant and Senior Financial Manager in recording and reviewing financial transactions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely submission of information used to support business decision-making and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage company financial information effectively and efficiently.
  • Process cash books and allocate income and expenses.
  • Manage online banking transactions and reports.
  • Reconcile accounts (debtors, creditors, and bank).
  • Follow up on outstanding debtors.
  • Assist with processing creditors.
  • Assist with CAPEX, fixed assets, and asset management.
  • Post monthly journals.
  • Petty cash and credit card management and reconciliation.
  • Assist in expense analysis report.
  • Assist with financial audits.
  • Investigate financial discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Data management and processing.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related field.
  • Accounting practical training completed.
  • SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA articles a positive.
  • 5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience of ERP Accounting systems (NAVision or BC365 an advantage).
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) and Power BI an advantage.
  • Excellent administrative and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong financial acumen and excellent time management skills.
  • Results-driven with strong communication skills; proficient in presenting reports and financial information to others.
  • A creative and innovative thinker, leading programs to exceed expectations via the smallest details.
Remuneration:
  • R300,000 per annum ctc.
