Sanlam Life and Savings is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Assistant to join our team. As an Actuarial Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our actuarial calculations and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Test and validate new and existing actuarial programs and systems, including Epsilon, SanQuote, and Actuarial Systems.
- Liaise with basis writers, programmers, business analysts, and system analysts to ensure seamless integration and communication.
- Analyse specifications of millennium tasks impacting the Actuarial Calculation Engine (ACE), PBB, and Mechanical Testing Systems (MTS), and apply them to set up test packs.
- Set up hand calculations from basis and specification documents.
- Test daily claims and monthly renewals of Epsilon products.
- Perform end-to-end testing, writing flows, and PIT testing for tasks.
- Test other systems on a release basis, including Future of Advice and Wealth Bonus Booster.
- Maintain and improve tools and processes through automation.
- Handle ad-hoc queries and tasks.
- Generate and recommend innovative ideas to enhance testing processes.
- Mathematics HG up to Grade 12 (C-symbol or higher) or Mathematics Level 6 or higher for National Senior Certificate.
- B-Degree or Diploma with a Mathematical or Computational major will be advantageous.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Sound knowledge of Sanlam retail Savings and/or Risk products.
- Knowledge and understanding of calculators, Epsilon system, Quotation Systems, Agile testing, and Actuarial MTS programs and stakeholders.
