About the Role

The Group Actuarial team at Old Mutual is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Actuarial Supervisor to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering Old Mutual's regulatory capital and other risk metric reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting – Ensure accurate and timely reporting of capital for regulatory submissions and external publication.
  • Capital forecasting – Provide projections as part of the annual Business Plan process and regular capital allocation updates.
  • Scenario and sensitivity testing – Conduct testing of capital levels under various scenarios for the annual ORSA process and ad-hoc requests.
  • Product support – Calculate the impact of new products or product changes on overall OMLACSA/OML capital.
  • Business support – Provide analysis of the impact of proposed balance sheet changes on overall OMLACSA/OML capital.
  • Project support – Assist the Group Finance project team with capital calculations for Prudential Authority applications.

Requirements

  • Considerable progress with actuarial examinations.
  • At least 4-6 years' actuarial experience with financial/capital reporting experience.
  • Strong technical skills in actuarial reserving and analysis of surplus.
  • Strong detail orientation with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Motivated self-starter with initiative, proactivity, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks.
  • High level of accountability.
  • Previous capital reporting experience and exposure to group consolidation and accounting reporting processes.

Education

Bachelor of Science (BSc): Actuarial Science (Required).
