Quality Assurance Engineer

The Quality Assurance division at Capital International is dedicated to delivering functional software that aligns with our clients' expectations by ensuring prompt feedback and preventing defects. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our CI/CD processes through rigorous testing.

In this position, you will be tasked with guaranteeing the delivery of high-quality applications utilizing industry-standard testing methodologies for our suite of contemporary client reporting, banking, and investment platforms. The ideal candidate will possess experience as a software tester in the finance or e-gaming industries and will thrive in an empowering environment.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Quality Assurance manager, you will collaborate with our Banking and Investment teams to ensure the release of high-quality software into production via our CI/CD pipelines.

  • Collaborate within an agile development team focused on the continuous delivery of software, contributing to high-quality solutions for our clients.
  • Analyze quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and constructive feedback.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate quality testing activities effectively.
  • Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases to ensure superior product delivery.
  • Design, create, and maintain automation scripts, adhering to coding standards and procedures for test automation.
  • Coordinate activities within a test plan among internal resources.
  • Identify, document, track, and retest bugs thoroughly.
  • Engage with Product, Business Analysis, and Development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Monitor quality assurance metrics and respond appropriately, such as defect densities, open defect counts, and testing progress.
  • Focus on the continuous enhancement of the QA process, including the use of appropriate testing techniques, tools, and automation solutions.
  • Foster technical growth through experimentation and creativity within the QA team to build a high-performing, versatile team.
  • Collaborate with the QA manager to develop and implement QA strategies that meet and exceed departmental and corporate quality objectives.

Qualifications

  • A strong passion for testing, quality, attention to detail, and lateral thinking abilities.
  • Ideally, a proven track record (3+ years) in a similar role across various projects, both offshore and in-house.
  • Familiarity with modern technology and testing tools; Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence), Test Management tools (e.g., qTest, Zephyr, X-Ray).
  • Working knowledge of current development methodologies (Agile / Scrum) with excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Confidence to collaborate and share ideas as part of a creative team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality or functionality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to continuous development and education to stay updated on IT and quality assurance testing trends.
  • A personable demeanor, genuine interest in technological advancements, and a sense of humor.
