Cape Peninsula University of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic professional to fill the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Clothing and Textile Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lecture in Applied Textiles Science 3 (theory and practical), Applied Textiles Science 2 (theory and practical), Product Performance and Control in Textiles and Clothing (for Advanced Diploma), Smart and Technical Textiles (for Post-graduate diploma).
  • Co-ordinate Advanced and Post-graduate Diploma and Masters programmes.
  • Contribute to academic initiatives undertaken by the department to enhance learning according to the needs of the industry and the department's learning & teaching goals.
Requirements
  • A doctoral qualification in Textile Science, Textile Technology or Textile Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years relevant experience in Clothing and Textile Technology of which two years were in higher education.
  • Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Track record of successful postgraduate supervision.
