The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences offers a range of programmes in Accounting, Finance, Management, Economics, Industrial Psychology, Information Systems, Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies, Institute for Social Development, Political Studies, School of Government, and the Academic Literacies Programme.

Through graduates, the Faculty contributes to social, economic, political, and technological development through teaching, learning, engagement, and research in the Economic and Management Sciences. The successful candidate will assume primary responsibility for the activities of the Small Business Clinic and report to the Dean of the Faculty.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Identifying and pursuing networks and partnerships
  • Pursuing funding opportunities to support the clinic's activities
  • Managing and overseeing all activities of the Small Business Clinic
  • Staff management in the Small Business Clinic
  • Writing reports on the clinic's activities
  • Reporting to the Dean on related matters
  • Facilitating learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Entrepreneurship-related modules
  • Conducting research and publishing in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development
  • Undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
  • Curriculum development and assessment
  • Participating in community engagement and outreach

Minimum Requirements:

  • Doctoral qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning, preferably in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development
  • A record of publications, preferably in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development
  • Successful supervision at Honours and Masters level
  • Demonstrated competence in community engagement
  • Competence in generating third-stream income (research grants)
  • Experience in academic leadership and management
