Process Optimization Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Engineer to join our team at JC Growth Solutions in Atlantis, South Africa. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in optimizing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with our production team to analyze and improve existing processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and implementing changes to achieve business objectives.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and interpret data on production processes, equipment performance, and material usage to inform process improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all processes adhere to safety standards and comply with environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing and resolving process issues, working closely with the production team to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for processes, equipment, and safety protocols, including process maps and technical reports.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with senior engineers on projects focused on new process development, modifications, or scaling of manufacturing processes.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with quality control, maintenance, and production teams to ensure seamless operations and product consistency.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
  • Experience: While this is an entry-level position, 1-2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment will be advantageous.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of chemical processes.
    • Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS) is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing process data and documentation.
Estimated Salary:

R300,000 - R450,000 per annum, depending on experience.
