Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our team at Dimension Data.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of large, complex databases and processes. This includes designing, implementing, and administering Oracle database management systems.

Main Responsibilities:

- Install, administer, and maintain database servers
- Control access permissions and administer complex databases
- Ensure optimal performance and recoverability in the event of a disaster
- Work closely with System Administrators, Change Control, Release Management, Service Delivery Management, Capacity and Availability Management to establish user needs and monitor access and security
- Develop and maintain best practices database documentation
- Administer and maintain database and user security policies and standards, including compliance with SOX regulations

Requirements:

- Minimum 6 years experience as a Senior Database Administrator on Oracle in a senior capacity
- Solid understanding of core database administration
- Experience in designing and implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions using Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard
- Experience in database migrations and administration on multiple platforms
- Solid understanding of Windows, Unix/Linux, Solaris Operating Systems
- Solid understanding of Oracle Rman backup and recovery

Additional Skills:

- Excellent communication skills and high proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers
- Display accuracy and attention to detail when dealing with tasks
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a balanced and logical approach

Estimated Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 per annum
