About the Job

As an Operational Director, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of customer contracts and R&D projects. Your expertise in system engineering management and technical project execution will be key in ensuring profitable project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the execution of customer contracts and R&D projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Maintain detailed project management documentation, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans to keep stakeholders informed of project progress.
  • Collaborate with marketing and bid teams to develop and submit winning proposals.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all contract-related matters, ensuring seamless stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver complex projects, leveraging your expertise in risk management and project governance.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure effective project execution and deliverables.
  • Foster excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting a culture of collaboration and trust.
  • Travel internationally as required, representing the company in various capacities.
Your Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience in defence or a related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with MRP systems, MS Office, and MS Projects.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze and manage project finances effectively.
  • Ability to think strategically, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Results-driven, with a focus on delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
