As an Account Executive at Kemin Industries, you will serve as a crucial liaison between our organization and clients within the ruminant sector across central South Africa. Your primary objective will be to enhance and deliver value to our customers through a creative and service-focused approach tailored to their business needs. Furthermore, you will work to expand and strengthen our ruminant customer base and industry connections, ensuring that Kemin's offerings are at the forefront of the animal nutrition and health sector.
This role is essential for managing and advancing Kemin's commercial interests in the region and is part of a broader sales and technical team. The emphasis will be on promoting Kemin's innovative range of products and services to primarily dairy and feedlot clients at the premix, feed mill, and producer levels.
In this capacity, you will oversee both existing and new business development primarily within the dairy and feedlot sectors, executing sales and marketing strategies that encompass strategic planning, excellence in customer relationships, and effective problem-solving. You will also collaborate with our Technical Service Specialists to enhance our technical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Enhance the Kemin product portfolio, focusing on the dairy and feedlot markets. Develop and expand our sales and service initiatives with both existing and prospective clients. Cultivate a ruminant sales project portfolio to meet our business objectives. Achieve sales and margin targets as established in collaboration with the company. Assist in the formulation and execution of sales and marketing strategies aligned with our strategic goals, taking responsibility for successfully meeting sales targets. Develop and maintain market information and customer databases. Prepare sales budgets in accordance with the company's growth objectives. Collaborate with the regional sales team to enhance our product and service offerings to the feed industry. Maintain regular contact with clients across multiple levels (Premix, Feed mill, Farmers, Consultants, and key influencers). Establish and nurture a robust network with customers to position Kemin as a reliable partner in feed solutions. Build and develop networks through distributor channels and provide assistance to distributors as needed. Lead our service support and technical team in addressing customer needs and concerns. Prepare and deliver presentations to customers. Organize and coordinate industry events. Represent the company at industry meetings and events.Required Qualifications
Degree in Agriculture with a focus on Animal Science (Agriculture degree preferred). Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience (Animal feeds, premix, feed additives, or related fields). Background in technical sales support, sales, or marketing.Language Proficiency:
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Fluency in English and Afrikaans is required. Excellent presentation and communication abilities.Physical Requirements:
Willingness to travel within South Africa and internationally, with approximately 50% travel expected.Personal Attributes:
Ability to engage with a diverse range of individuals. Positive, reliable, proactive, innovative, self-motivated, and results-oriented attitude. Capability to operate effectively within a dynamic sales and technical ruminant team.Certifications & Licenses:
Valid motor vehicle driver's license is required.Work Environment:
